Hey friends! It’s Friday night, the kids are in bed, I have a cup of tea, some granola, and at 7:55 it’s nearing bedtime.
But the reason of this post is to announce that I’m looking for 10-12 other artists / makers of kids products to participate in another Salon d’Enfance here in Montreal this May.
I want to hear from people of all different arts; fashion, illustration, food products, knitwear, ceramics, decor…. you name it. As long as your market is the very young (or rather the people buying for the very young) that means you!
Two years ago our (no longer existant) Collectif Nënë put on a beautiful show in a gallery setting and the turnout was fantastic. All participants made contacts that brought business. Buyers came out and we had lots of media stopping by. All good stuff! And obviously we all sold lots and lots. Please check out the post about it here to see if this is the type of event you would like to participate in.
So spread the word, folks, or let me know of anybody you think would be a good fit for this. Would anybody from Toronto like to come down? I’d love to have some new faces on the kid business scene!
I’ll be re posting when more details come together.
Further ramblings:
I’m proud to say that we’re starting our first monthly babysitting swap this weekend. Isn’t that a great idea? I’m watching our friends’ 2 kids tomorrow and next week they’ll watch ours while the husband-man takes me on a romantic date.
It’s been EIGHT years today that we officially started going out! I remember it like yesterday; picking up 2 beers and some smoked meat on my way home from my job at Air Canada Vacations (!) and calling Sylv to ask him to ‘help me fix my bike’.
It was a sham, obviously, but Sylv showed up and didn’t question the dodgy repairs I asked him to help with. In the weeks leading up to this I used to do that thing where you phone someone and then hang up when they answer. Thank goodness he was blinded by love and failed to see what a dorky woman I really am.
Anyway, happy weekend to you, I hope it’s full of friendship, love, and good wine.
I’ve been with Matt for almost 8 years too! I might be interested in participating in your thing since I do photography with children… but not sure what. Hmmm.
Vivian! Hmmm maybe we could talk about setting up something at the show for whimsical portraits of kids? Or maybe you just have a table featuring your business and examples of children’s photography? Anyway — let’s talk more about this! Would love to have you on board. Congrats on 8 years
I would LOVE to be part of this. I had heard about Collectif Nene and was hoping to join you all. Especially after seeing that show. What a great space! So I’m glad to hear you are taking the reins:) We met when I was at Haut et Fort with Vivian. Love your work!
Ohhh I remember you! Great! I’ll be setting up a meeting in the next few weeks with the vendors and we can take it from there. Thank you! I love your monsters
Yes! I’ve been hoping another baby fair would come up!
Are there days chosen yet?
Hi Jessica! Thanks for your interest. We’re working out the details right now but it will likely be the first Saturday in May. Keep you posted on the blog and Facebook!
I would like to participate
I create cushions for children, bedding, decoration for the wall.
My new collection is nowhere visible but I can send pictures if you want.
Thank you and good day
